The Vanessa Lacy Gallery’s March show “Elements” is a collection of local, regional, and even national artwork inspired by the four elements of nature; earth, wind, water, and fire. Artists were encouraged to submit artwork of any size or medium. The theme “Elements” was left to be broad, ensuring a vast selection for viewers and clients.
The artists in this show are as follows: Diane Bronstein, Bekah Bliss, Julie Cleran, Kirk Decker, Patti Ebel, Carson Grubaugh, Liz Halsted, Charlotta Hauksdottir, Nina Irwin, Robert Klausing, Ada Koch, Vanessa Lacy, Ursula Minor, Fred Mullett, Crystal Nederman, Allison Olsen, Shelly Pinto, Megan Reeves Williamson, and John Wilson.
This show was juried, curated, and installed by Vanessa Lacy and her gallery manager, Allison Olsen. 144 artists from all over the country applied to this show through Call For Entry, but only 20 artists were accepted to display. Some of these 20 artists are local to Kansas City, some reside in surrounding towns and cities such as Overland Park and Lees Summit. Four artists accepted into the “Elements” show were national entries from California, Georgia, and Virginia.
Two renowned musicians, Kaylee Thomas and Eddie Moore, performed at the “Elements” opening reception on Friday, March 9th. Beer was provided by Stockyards Brewing Company and served as artists and the community mingled. “Elements” will be open through April 7th and the Vanessa Lacy Gallery will host a closing reception that day from 10am-2pm with coffee, mimosas, and treats.
